Experience Required

For bareboat charters within the Firth of Clyde, we require that the Skipper hold a minimum of the RYA Day Skipper certificate (or equivalent experience). For sailing outside this area we require a minimum of the RYA Coastal Skipper certificate (or equivalent experience).

Should you not have the necessary certificate or experience, then it is possible to hire a professional Skipper for the duration of your trip at a cost of £120 per day or £680 for a full week. (It is the charterer’s responsibility to provide the Skipper with food and a separate cabin).

Alternatively, why not arrange your very own training course for your group and gain experience (as well as recognised qualifications) whilst still enjoying the delights of Scotland’s west coast.

Security Deposit

In addition to the charter fee, a security deposit of £500 is required (this is increased to £750 if going through the Crinan Canal). This is to cover minor losses, damage, breakage and fuel used (if not replaced). Please arrange to pay with cash or money order on arrival if not paid previously with the balance of the charter fees. The security deposit, less any deductions, will be repaid within 14 days of the end of the charter.

Discounts

• A 5% discount will be given if two consecutive weeks are booked
• A 5% discount will be given if the charterer has chartered from us previously
• A 5% discount will be given on all bookings made prior to the end of January 2005

Racing

Some yachts may be raced subject to the Skipper’s experience, suitability of vessel and Company’s authority. A 50% premium on the bareboat rates will be charged. The charterer will also be responsible for any additional insurance premium required.

How to book

Either telephone or email us to check that the dates and yacht you require are available. Once we have confirmed availability, please complete the booking form and dispatch together with the appropriate deposit to us. The deposit will be 25% of the total price, with the balance payable four weeks prior to the charter commencement date.

Cancellation

If you wish to cancel the charter, you must do so in writing. You will be liable for the full fees unless cancelled more than six weeks before the commencement date, in which case only the deposit will be forfeited. Endeavour Yacht Charters recommend that appropriate insurance is taken out. If, for any reason, the yacht charter cannot be provided, Endeavour Yacht Charters’ liability will be limited to repayment of monies received.
